Fitness and Faith – My Two Cents

I am not religious… not even close.  But I do understand faith and I appreciate that many people in my community are very strong believers.  Here is the thing that baffles me about the faithful.  How can you neglect your health and fitness and still be a strong believer? Of course there are many believers who do eat right and take care of themselves. But for those who do not, it seems to me that Christians are taught that they are made in the image of God.  If this is so wouldn’t you do everything you could to take care of this wondrous body you have been loaned for your time here on Earth?  Shouldn’t you feed it the most healthy foods and make sure it is in tip top shape?  Feeding it potato chips and diet soda is in direct opposition to cherishing your gift. We take better care of our cars than we do our bodies.  If God gave you this life and He created you in his image, you should honor Him and that gift by doing your best to keep your body healthy.  Just my two cents…
